In "I spy," an eccentric old couple let their their paranoia get the better of them when "prying" census takers come calling. A woman is possessed by the devilish spirit of a leprechaun-like creature in "The mad Dullaghan." "The pattern" finds a World War II veteran haunted by three ghosts from the battlefield who have followed him home. In "The silent supper," an old witch in the Bayou has the superstitious swamp folk in the grip of fear, until one of them murders her.
